American runner Masai Russell set the second-best time in history in the 100m hurdles at the Diamond League in Xiamen.
Russell was entering the competition after setting the season's best 100-meter hurdles world record for the third time in a month at the Diamond League in Shanghai, clocking 12.25 seconds. The American had previously held the season's best time of 12.40 seconds.
Russell also announced her ambitions to break Nigeria's Toby Amusan's world record of 12.12 seconds the day before. The Olympic champion said she had overcome fears and doubts to accidentally break the barriers that had haunted her throughout 2025.
