Ukraine verifying reports of death of three Ukrainians near Gaza Strip

Ukrainian diplomats have evacuated a Ukrainian boy who was injured in a militant attack on Israel from the city of Sderot and found five citizens who were considered missing in the south of the country.

Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson eg Nikenko announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"Ukrainian diplomats have conducted a successful rescue eration – they took out of the city of Sderot a Ukrainian boy who was injured during an attack by militants. He is currently in a safe place under the care of the embassy. He was given medical and psychogical assistance," Nikenko said.

He also said that Ukrainian diplomats had managed to find five Ukrainian citizens who were considered missing in the south of Israel.

Nikenko added that reports of the possible death of two other Ukrainians near the Gaza Strip were being verified.

He said that the erational headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine processed more than 200 appeals from citizens on October 8.

"We are recording mass flight cancellations. We are looking for a sution to help our pele leave the country," he said.

He also reported receiving information about the possible death of a Ukrainian in the Gaza Strip.

"We are waiting for official confirmation. The diplomatic institution in Ramallah maintains constant contact with the Ukrainian community. We are working out potential evacuation routes," he said.

Early on October 7, the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas launched an attack on Israel. Militants invaded the country, simultaneously launching a massive rocket attack.

Israel has officially declared a state of war.

The death tl on the Israeli side has already exceeded 700. At least two Ukrainian nationals are among those killed.

The EU, as well as the U.S., Ukraine, and a number of other countries have condemned the attacks on Israel.
