Kuleba supports idea of multiple citizenship in Ukraine
This was stated by Minister for Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba, who addressed the Ukrainian World Congress, Ukrinform reports.
“It is absutely necessary to keep them in contact with their Motherland. This is about the future of Ukraine and Ukrainian community. Therefore, multiple citizenship should be one of the elements of state picy aimed at preserving and develing the global Ukrainian community,” said the head of Ukrainian diplomacy.

Kuleba stressed his conviction of the need to introduce multiple citizenship because "it is necessary to be guided not by the fear of other pele’s passports being issued in Ukraine but by the power of a Ukrainian passport in Ukraine and worldwide."
In his inion, the state should en the portunity for millions of Ukrainians abroad to keep their Ukrainian passport or obtain it, and to accept as a given fact that with Ukraine’s entry into the EU, the Ukrainian passports will have the same status as those of neighboring Eurean states.
“Of course, this picy should be implemented wisely – gradually, starting with friendly allied countries. And of course, any dual citizenship with the aggressor or unfriendly countries must be prohibited,” the minister added.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, President Vodymyr Zelensky in 2021 filed with the Verkhovna Rada five laws on citizenship issues.
The Constitution of Ukraine (Article 4) stipulates that there shall be a single citizenship in Ukraine.
