Cabinet of Ministers allocates ₴34 million to repair camp for Russian prisoners
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Government portal.
"For the period of martial law, the costs of activities related to the detention of prisoners of war may be covered by the reserve fund of the state budget. The government made the relevant decision at a meeting on January 23, 2024. Also, by the same decision, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated UAH 34.05 million from the reserve fund to the Ministry of Justice to repair one of the camps for the detention of Russian prisoners of war," the statement said.
It is noted that the funds allocated by the government will be used to repair and prerly equip buildings and utilities. This will increase Ukraine's capacity to hd prisoners of war in accordance with international standards and domestic legislation.

It is also emphasized that as a signatory to the Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War, Ukraine strictly adheres to the relevant norms of international law.
The government recalls that in April 2022, the Procedure for the Detention of Prisoners of War was approved, which regulates in detail the conditions of their detention, food, logistics, etc.
As reported, The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine representative Andr Yusov said that another camp for Russian prisoners of war is being set up in Ukraine, which will erate in accordance with international law.
