Weather forecast in March: when to expect warming in Ukraine

March in Ukraine promises to be wet. Precipitation is expected. Vgorode decided to find out what the weather will be like in the last days of winter and early spring.

Cyclone at the end of winter

As forecaster Natalka Didenko said, on February 28, a small cyclone named Reiner will affect the territory of Ukraine along with an occlusion front. An occlusion front is formed when a cold front overtakes a warm one, and they merge into one. Such atmospheric phenomena are usually accompanied by precipitation.

Cyclone Reiner will bring rain and sleet to western regions of Ukraine. Southeasterly winds are also expected. No significant precipitation is forecast for the rest of the country.

The lowest night temperatures are expected in Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk and Poltava regions – from -10°C to -15°C. In most other regions, night temperatures will fluctuate between -2°C and -6°C, and in the west – around 0°C. The daytime temperature on February 28 will be from 0°C to +6°C, with a possible cold snap in the western regions due to precipitation. In the eastern regions, daytime temperatures will be slightly lower – from -3°C to +2°C.

In Kyiv, the night temperature will be -2°C…-4°C, daytime — +2°C…+4°C. In the afternoon, the southeast wind may strengthen. Precipitation in the capital is unlikely.

Weather in the first days of March

The beginning of spring promises wet weather with lighter night frosts and cool days, which is a typical early spring atmosphere.

For residents of the western regions, it is important to prepare for possible precipitation and strong winds, which may affect road conditions and overall comfort. It is recommended to have appropriate clothing and footwear with you, as well as to be careful on the roads.

Residents of other regions can expect calmer weather without significant precipitation, but it is worth paying attention to night frosts, especially in the eastern regions, where the temperature can drop to -15°C. This may affect the operation of transport and energy systems, so you should be prepared for possible inconveniences.

In general, the end of winter in Ukraine is characterized by a variety of weather conditions, which requires attention and preparation from citizens to ensure their own safety and comfort.
