The wife of a Russian military man trains at Sport Life in Kyiv
One user shared on Facebook an unusual story that happened to her at the Sport Life fitness club located in the Retroville shopping mall. The mall itself was undergoing almost two years of reconstruction after it was hit by a missile strike from Russia, killing 8 people.
“The first thing I saw here was a Russian citizen who was doing a completely normal squat and stretching,” the commenter notes.
This is about Irina Krynina, the wife of a Russian prisoner of war.
In 2023, Krynina came to Ukraine to look for a husband, gave an interview, and passed a polygraph. “My stay in Ukraine is official with the permission of the Ukrainian authorities,” the Russian man's wife says.
But a request for Sport Life's official position went unanswered. Instead, from the coaches, in the words of the contributor: “Sports are outside of politics.”
In January 2024, the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War called Iryna Krynina a co-founder of the public movement “Our Exit”.
