It is known that Cherepovets is home to the largest enterprise in Europe, Apatite JSC (Cherepovets chemical cluster of PhosAgro group), which produces phosphorus-containing fertilizers, phosphoric and sulfuric acid, and is also among the leaders in Russia in terms of the volume of production of NPK fertilizers, ammonia, and ammonium nitrate.
Its products are supplied to the markets of Europe, Asia, and Latin America, and are also used to manufacture ammunition, equipment, and other weapons for the Russian army.
At around 5:00 a.m., the governor reported 8 drone strikes. At the same time, he said, local air defenses shot down another dozen drones over the Cherepovets industrial zone.
The authorities also write that no damage to critical infrastructure has been recorded in the district. There are no deaths or injuries either.
