As a child, the artist lived in Congo, and then moved with her mother to Ukraine. She studied at a music school, received her higher education at the Faculty of Economics. How did Gaitana become popular?
She began to take her first serious steps in the field of music in the 90s. The artist participated in many competitions and festivals, and later performed as part of the “Altana” ensemble. Later, her voice could be heard on the backing vocals of popular stars: Irina Bilyk, traitors Taisiya Povaliy and Ani Lorak, Nikolai Karachentsev and Alexander Malinin.

In the early 2000s, cooperation with Lavina Music began. Then work on albums began, and in 2007 a hit called “Shalenii” was released.

The singer went to sunny Baku in 2012 to represent our country at the contest. She performed with the track Be My Guest, which caused a scandal. The song allegedly showed signs of plagiarism, because the audience thought it was similar to other compositions: Сlocks – Coldplay When Love Takes Over – Kelly Rowland feat. David Guetta.
Gaitana was also “accused” of her performance being uninteresting, so the audience gave the artist 65 points and 15th place.

In 2012, when Ukraine hosted the Euro 2012 football championship, the star prepared an anthem for the football championship called “Viva, Europe!”.
Why did Gaitana disappear from the scene?
Later, the singer terminated her contract with Lavina Music, stating that she was “the captain of her own ship.” Then the artist decided to take a creative break, but still released a video in 2016.
Gaitana officially announced that she was leaving show business to devote herself to her family. However, 7 years have passed since then and the singer surprised with a loud return. In April 2024, she presented a new album “Sun in You”, which included 10 songs of the singer released after 2014.
Personal life
It is known that the singer was previously in a relationship with her producer Eduard Klim, but in 2015 the couple broke up.

Later it became known that Gaitana secretly married sound producer Oleksandr Smart. In 2017, their daughter Nicole was born.

As is known, the singer does not live in Ukraine, but abroad. She often posts her performances from different countries on social networks. However, the information on her Instagram account indicates that it is located in Switzerland. Probably, the star lives in this country.

Not so long ago, the artist presented new songs. She continues to experiment with images and style, apparently looking for something new and unique. In September 2025, the star reported that her father died at the age of 69. What caused his death is unknown.
