
Local residents of Bucha say that the family of the young man detained for the terrorist attack has been living in the city for a short time.
They told this to the correspondent of Suspilny.
Victoria woke up in the morning to a loud explosion, although there was no alarm. She later learned that it had happened near her house.
“I'm a social worker. I need to find out the contacts of the victims, if possible, but they won't let me in. It's such a coincidence that I work here and am a witness,” the girl says.
Olena also lives nearby. The woman thought a “shaheed” had fallen. At first it was quiet, but later a second explosion was heard. Then people were pushed into her yard, so her family opened the gate of the house for others.
“People were all dressed up. So the first thing I did was bring out the blankets and put them on. My husband made tea and brought out cookies,” the woman shared. “I heard that this guy's parents bought an apartment. They've been living there recently. Apparently his mother is a military man.”
What is known about the terrorist attack in Bucha?
In the early hours of March 23, an unknown object exploded near an apartment building in Bucha, followed by another explosion. Two law enforcement officers were injured in the incident.
According to preliminary data, improvised explosive devices were detonated. Not far from the site of the explosions, law enforcement officers detained a 21-year-old local resident, who is suspected of planting explosives.
According to the detainee, he met an unknown person online who offered him money to plant explosive devices — 25,000 hryvnias for each explosion. He also said that the man threatened and blackmailed him with information about his mother's whereabouts and allegedly stalked her with a drone.
The Security Service of Ukraine has initiated criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – a terrorist act.
