Apple has officially confirmed the dates for its annual developer conference. This year's event promises to be a watershed moment for the company's software platforms, as official announcements have directly hinted at technologies that were previously only discussed in rumors and leaks.

What products will Apple unveil at WWDC 2026?

Apple announced that the 2026 Worldwide Developers Conference will begin on June 8 and run through June 12, Monday through Friday. Like last year, the bulk of the event will be held online, allowing developers from around the world to join the sessions for free. However, the company has also retained an offline component: a special event for select developers and students will be held on June 8 at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California, Gizmochina reports.

Participants will be able to watch the keynote presentation live, meet Apple employees, and tour the headquarters grounds. Applications for the prize draw are accepted until March 30, and the results will be announced on April 2.

The main event will be a big presentation scheduled for the first day of the conference. The main theme of the event, Apple openly calls achievements in the field of artificial intelligence. The company is expected to finally present a radically updated version of Siri, which will receive a deep understanding of the context and the ability to analyze what is happening on the device's screen, writes MacRumors.

The new virtual assistant will be able to perform complex actions within and between apps, and will also have a chatbot feature that can compete with well-known solutions like ChatGPT or Gemini. Some reports indicate that Apple may use Google's Gemini language models to implement these capabilities.

Wait for new operating systems

A number of next-generation operating systems will be presented at the conference: iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, tvOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27, notes 9to5mac.

Despite the focus on AI, many analysts predict that this year will be a year of stability, similar to the release of Snow Leopard. This means that instead of radical visual changes, developers will focus on bug fixes, optimizations, and improving overall system reliability.

iOS 27 is expected to further develop the Liquid Glass design introduced earlier, as well as special optimizations for future devices with flexible screens.

Traditionally, the first beta versions of the systems will become available to developers immediately after the presentation, and public testing will begin in July.

It will be interesting, but without devices

Developers will have access to over 100 technical sessions and labs to learn new tools and integrate new features into their software products. Special attention will be paid to the winners of the Swift Student Challenge, who will be attending a multi-day program in Cupertino.

Although no new hardware announcements are expected for June, it is worth mentioning that Apple has already released nine new products in March alone:

  • These include the $599 MacBook Neo laptop, updated MacBook Airs with the M5 chip, and professional monitors.
  • We also saw a new smartphone, headphones, and tablet.
  • At the same time, the release of new Apple TV and HomePod mini models has been postponed until the updated Siri is ready.
