The minister clarified that the loan assistance will include the renovation of energy equipment, including the gas production industry.
“Special attention was paid to the topic of increasing gas and oil production in Ukraine with the involvement of American companies. We discussed the development of the Vertical Gas Corridor, the advantages of using Ukrainian gas storage facilities, and the development of the Odessa terminal for transporting oil to Europe,” Denys Shmyhal told about the details of the negotiations with the Americans.
Shmyhal also reported on negotiations with US companies regarding alternative sources of diesel fuel supply and expressed hope for support from the American administration.
“We appreciate the recent decision to allocate an additional $276 million to support the Ukrainian energy sector. This is the assistance that allows us not only to survive, but also to build a new system of energy security,” said Denys Shmyhal.
