American track and field athlete Chase Jackson won her debut gold medal at the World Indoor Championships. This is the 31-year-old athlete's fourth medal in the shot put at the World Indoor Championships.

The World Indoor Athletics Championships kicked off in Torun, Poland, on Friday, March 20. On the first day of the competition, the world championship medalists in the shot put sector were determined.

The winner of the competition was American athlete Chase Jackson. After the first attempt, the American took fifth place with a result of 18.35 m. But already in the second attempt, Chase showed a result of 19.96 m, ahead of all competitors. As a result, the American athlete managed to maintain her advantage, and in the fourth attempt she improved her result, throwing the shot put to 20.14 m.

“I wanted to come here and complete my collection by collecting a full set of medals from the indoor world championships. I'm not a big fan of indoor competitions, everyone knows that. This is my farewell to these competitions: I probably won't be pushing indoors anymore. Today was a difficult day for me to prepare. There were 15 athletes in the competition, and the throws take a long time,” Jackson said.

This is Jackson's first gold medal at the indoor world championships. In total, the 31-year-old athlete has five medals at the world championships, which are held in the winter part of the season. Thanks to the “gold” of this year's tournament, Jackson completed her full set of medals.
