Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhiy Tykhyi, stated that Hungary is politicizing the issue related to the repair of the Druzhba oil pipeline.
The corresponding statement was published on the social network X on the page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
According to him, Ukraine has not heard any condemnation from Hungary regarding the damage to the Druzhba oil pipeline by the Russian strike.
He added that instead of explaining to Hungarians why the country has failed to diversify its energy supplies, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is focusing his rhetoric on Ukraine.
“So, Hungary is politicizing this issue, turning it into a political pretext and making demands on Ukraine, which, in our opinion, is absurd. Ukraine is facing large-scale terror, air terror from Russia,” Tykhy said.
A spokesman for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry noted that Ukrainian infrastructure is being destroyed daily due to constant Russian attacks. He added that after the damage to the Druzhba, other damage to Ukrainian pipelines, including the Odesa-Brody pipeline, was also recorded.
“Ukraine is repairing all this. But we don't have unlimited resources. We are waging a full-scale war, which Hungary for some reason decides to ignore,” Tykhy added.
