Rada sets Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism on May 8
MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak (the Voice faction) posted this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
According to him, 317 parliamentarians supported the adtion of the law "On the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in World War II of 1939-1945" (No. 9278).
The document stipulates that the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in World War II of 1939-1945 will be marked annually on May 8.
May 8 will be a public hiday.
The law enters into force on the day flowing its publication.
As reported, President of Ukraine Vodymyr Zelensky submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft law declaring May 8 as the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in World War II. In addition, the President signed the Decree according to which Ukraine will celebrate Eure Day on May 9.
