Ukraine has once again introduced power outage schedules due to infrastructure damage and capacity shortages. The situation is complicated by weather conditions and scheduled repairs at power units.
Power engineers are working to restore damaged power system facilities, DTEK reported.
Why have power outage schedules been reintroduced in Ukraine?
Ukraine is once again experiencing power outages due to damage to electricity transmission facilities. As a result of the attacks, the power system cannot transmit enough power to provide stable power to all consumers.
In addition, the situation is further complicated by changing weather conditions – due to cold weather and cloudiness, the efficiency of solar power plants has decreased. Also, some nuclear power units are undergoing scheduled repairs, which affects the overall generation balance.
DTEK emphasized that specialists are doing everything possible to stabilize the situation and restore uninterrupted power supply.
The Ministry of Energy reported that as of the morning of March 19, due to hostilities and shelling of energy infrastructure, some consumers in Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions remain without electricity. In particular, one employee was injured as a result of the attack on the Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo facility.
He is being provided with the necessary medical care. Energy workers are working in an intensive mode to restore power supply to all subscribers as soon as possible.
