In custody: law enforcement officers detained suspects who wanted to set fire to a house in the Kyiv region

In the Kyiv region, in the Bila Tserkva district, two Kyiv residents tried to set fire to a house. Law enforcement officers detained the suspects, and they are in custody.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police of the Kyiv region.

It is noted that the police received a report from a resident of Skvira. He stated that he found the remains of burnt items near his house.

“The police established that 40 and 47-year-old residents of the capital entered the household. Using a pre-prepared incendiary mixture, they set fire to a car tire and left its chambers near the couple's home, after which they disappeared from the scene,” the report says.

There were no casualties. Law enforcement officers detained the suspects and informed them of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 15, Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (completed attempt to intentionally damage someone else's property, committed by arson, by prior conspiracy by a group of persons). The sanctions of the articles provide for up to 10 years of imprisonment.

The court chose custody as a preventive measure for the detainees. The reasons for the arson are not yet known.

It was previously reported that the Desnyansky District Prosecutor's Office of the capital suspects a Kyiv resident. He is accused of setting fire to the SUV of a military school teacher. He explained that in this way he wanted to take revenge on the new chosen one of his former roommate, because he still had feelings for the woman.
