Emergency power outages will be in effect in a number of regions of Ukraine on Wednesday, January 28. The reason is the consequences of Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities.
Ukrenergo noted that in regions where emergency shutdowns have been introduced, previously published schedules will not be valid. Energy workers are working in an intensified mode to stabilize energy supply.
Emergency shutdowns will be canceled after the situation in the power system normalizes. At the same time, the company urges consumers to use electricity sparingly if it is restored.

What is the current situation in Ukraine's energy system?

Director of the Center for Energy Research Oleksandr Kharchenko told Channel 24 that the energy situation in Ukraine is generally under control. The most difficult situation is currently in Kyiv, Kyiv region, Odessa region and Kryvyi Rih. However, after improving weather conditions, the energy system is expected to be restored in the coming weeks.
