Three world season records set at NCAA track and field championships

At the US Intercollegiate Athletics Championships, three world season records were set.

The Winter Intercollegiate Athletics Championships were held in Fayetteville, USA. 650 athletes participated, who passed the selection and showed the best results. Medals were awarded in 34 disciplines.

Also during the competition in the USA, three of the best results of the season in the world were set at once. Some of the results were close to setting the best world figures of all time.

What season world records were set at the NCAA Indoor Championships?

  • Adaejaa Hodge set a world season record in the 200m. The 19-year-old athlete covered the distance in 22.28 seconds, also setting a national record for the British Virgin Islands.
  • Ja'Koby Tharp – In the 60m hurdles, he ran 7.36 seconds, setting the world's best time of the season. The American's result also became the fourth best in history at this distance.
  • Ella Onojewewwo, a Nigerian sprinter, won the 400m with a time of 50.28 seconds.

In addition, most competitions ended with personal records for the participating athletes.

The US Collegiate Championships are held twice a year: indoors in the winter and outdoors in the summer. Each year, the best university among the teams entered is determined.
