Egg prices in Ukraine typically fall in spring due to a seasonal increase in supply. However, this year, prices may be affected by higher fuel prices and increased logistics costs.
Egg prices may not fall
Analyst of the Ukrainian Agrarian Business Club Maksym Hopka said that despite the traditional spring decrease in the price of eggs, prices may remain relatively high in 2026, RBC-Ukraine reports. The cost of the product is affected by feed costs, as well as higher fuel and logistics costs.
According to him, in the second half of spring, egg prices usually decrease. This is due to the fact that the number of chickens in households increases, and accordingly, the supply on the market increases, which gradually balances demand. At the same time, this year, several factors affect the formation of prices that may restrain the decrease in price.
First of all, we are talking about feed costs, which remain the main component of the cost of egg production.
Please note! In addition, the increase in fuel prices has a significant impact. Due to the aggravation of the situation in the Middle East, fuel prices have increased, which has led to an increase in the costs of transporting products and delivering feed.
The expert notes that if fuel prices do not decrease after Easter, a significant drop in the cost of eggs should not be expected, even taking into account seasonal factors.
