Oschadbank returned the collection cars detained in Hungary

Oschadbank reported that the bank's collection vehicles detained in Hungary have already been returned to Ukraine. They were detained on March 6. After the collection vehicles were returned, a number of equipment damages were recorded.

Oschadbank reported this on Telegram.

Oschadbank's legal representatives conducted a detailed recording of all detected malfunctions on site. After the cars are returned to Ukraine, an assessment of the damages will be made.

The bank recalled that cash and valuables in the amount of 40 million US dollars, 35 million euros, and 9 kg of bank gold are still illegally detained in Hungary.

“Oschadbank will continue to consistently defend its rights within the framework of the previously announced strategy: protecting the interests of its employees and returning valuables belonging to the state-owned bank. A certain list of legal steps has already been taken,” the report says.

Earlier, the head of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), Andriy Pyshny, said that the detained Ukrainian collectors of Oschadbank in Hungary were harshly interrogated, one of them was hospitalized.

After the detention of Oschadbank employees and valuables, the NBU recommended that commercial banks avoid logistics shipments passing through Hungary.

Austria's central bank governor, Martin Kocher, is also surprised by Hungary's accusations. He said that cash transfers between Austria and Ukraine are common practice.

The Deputy Chief Spokesperson of the European Commission, Olof Gill, announced on March 11 that the European Commission had received a letter from the NBU regarding the illegal detention of Ukrainian tax collectors in Hungary.
