American actor Mickey Rourke has officially lost his rental home in Los Angeles. The man's former residence, located on Drexel Avenue, has returned to the control of the landlord, Eric T. Goldie.
This is stated in court documents that Page Six obtained on Tuesday.
The decision was made on Monday in Los Angeles County Superior Court in absentia, so it is likely that Mickey Rourke did not appear in court to defend his interests or did not respond to the lawsuit within the deadline set by the court.
In December, a court order was filed demanding that the actor vacate the house within three days or pay $59,100 in rent. In January, Rourke was spotted moving things out of the apartment, and the next day a U-Haul truck appeared in the driveway. Page Six then learned that the celebrity was staying at a luxury hotel in West Hollywood, California, where room rates start at $550 per night.
Meanwhile, Leah-Joel Jones started a GoFundMe fundraiser on Rourke's behalf to raise $100,000 to avoid eviction. However, the actor has strongly denied any involvement in the fundraiser.
If I needed money, I wouldn't ask for any goddamn charity. I'd rather stick a gun up my ass and pull the trigger… My life is very simple, I wouldn't turn to outside sources like that,
– he said.
In January, Mickey's manager, Kimberly Hynes, told TMZ that despite the large number of job offers, the actor wants to earn A-list star-level fees and will not work for less than $200,000 per day.
