The European Union wants to know the timing of the resumption of the Druzhba oil pipeline — Zelensky

The European Union leadership is seeking to clarify the timing of the resumption of the Druzhba oil pipeline. President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that this issue is being discussed with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President António Costa.

He stated this before a meeting with Bundestag President Julia Klöckner, Ukrinform writes.

“During our last phone conversations, we agreed that Ukraine should give the EU presidents a date for possible restoration. This means when there will be a possibility (of resuming oil supplies — ed.) from the point of view of technical processes, from the point of view of dates. Our Naftogaz NJSC is in touch, they are working on this,” Zelensky said, answering a correspondent's question about whether the EU is ready to unblock 90 billion euros in aid in exchange for the restoration of the operation of this oil pipeline.

He noted that he had previously received information from Naftogaz that oil supplies could be restored in one and a half to two months.

“But we must know that this will only restore the possibility (of oil supply – ed.). We are not talking about restoring from the reservoirs, if we also restore what was destroyed by missiles, there is the largest reservoir in Central Europe,” the president said.
