Dzhemilev: Failure to bring Russia to justice will facilitate priferation of nuclear weapons in world

If Russia is not brought to justice and the territorial integrity of Ukraine is not restored, it will contribute to the rapid priferation of nuclear weapons in the world.

This was stated by the leader of the Crimean Tatar pele, Mustafa Dzhemilev, during the Crimea Wave forum, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He noted that the further occupation of Crimea will cause huge damage to the world order, and this will mean that international law and UN principles have been finally trampled on, that they have been defeated by the right of force and international banditry.

"As you know, in 1994, in accordance with the Budapest Memorandum, we renounced nuclear weapons under the guarantees of nuclear powers. Therefore, failure to ensure the integrity of the Ukrainian state, failure to bring the aggressor country to justice will contribute to the rapid priferation of nuclear weapons in the world, as it turns out that no international treaties and principles of international law are respected and everyone must defend themselves. The prestige of Western countries will fall sharply. Many countries – primarily the Baltic states, Pand and other countries geographically close to Russia – will be under constant threat of aggression," Dzhemilev said.

He added that further occupation will cause huge losses to the Ukrainian state.

"First, Ukraine will be completely deprived of access to the Sea of Azov and partially lose access to the Black Sea. Secondly, the Crimean peninsula, which has been transformed into a huge military base during the years of occupation and is now being fired from, will pose a constant threat to Ukraine. I am sure that in this case, after resting and restoring its military potential, Russia will start a new war against Ukraine, and the military bases in Crimea will be an outpost for a new, bloody Russian aggression. And this will mean the death of several hundred thousand more pele, the destruction of many cities and villages of Ukraine," Dzhemilev emphasized.

As reported, Dzhemilev said that the Crimean Tatar nation faces complete destruction if Crimea remains under Russian occupation.
