“The Health Ministry will submit a resolution on the extension of the quarantine at the next government meeting. We are going to extend it until May 12. This extension is predetermined by our incidence and the danger posed by coronavirus disease,” he said during an online briefing, according to an UNIAN correspondent.

However, according to Stepanov, the ministry will suggest quarantine measures be mitigated.

“For example, walks in parks, but these walks will be very clearly limited by the number of people, the use of personal protective means during walks,” the minister said, adding the decision would contain “very clear criteria.”

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers on March 11 decided to introduce quarantine in Ukraine from March 12 until April 3 over the spread of the novel COVID-19 coronavirus. On March 25, the national quarantine was extended, while the national emergency situation was introduced throughout the country until April 24.
