Kyiv region receives five generators for critical infrastructure from UNDP

The United Nations Develment Program (UNDP) in Ukraine, with the assistance of the Japanese government, has donated five powerful generators to the Kyiv region for critical infrastructure.

That's according to the Kyiv regional military administration, Ukrinform reports.

The administration said these are the first of 77 pieces of equipment needed to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply, which Ukraine should receive under a joint program between the UNDP and the Japanese government.

The generators transferred to the Kyiv region will ensure the stable eration of such facilities as treatment and sewage plants, heat networks, medical and educational institutions, etc.

Certificates for receiving the devices have already been handed over to representatives of critical infrastructure enterprises.

The handover ceremony was attended by Japan's Ambassador to Ukraine Kuninori Matsuda, UNDP Resident Representative in Ukraine Jaco Cilliers, Deputy Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Develment of Ukraine eksandr Butenko and Deputy Chairman of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Myka Boiko.
