A fire broke out in a five-story building in Kyiv, people from the upper floors were rescued from the fire, there are injuries

A fire broke out on the first floor of a five-story building in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv late on the evening of January 21. The fire trapped four people, including a child, on the upper floors. They had to be rescued.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Kyiv.

“On January 21 at 10:13 p.m., a fire broke out in an apartment on the 1st floor of a five-story building on Dilovaya Street. The fire spread to the 2nd floor,” the report says.

During the firefighting operation, rescuers evacuated 4 people from the upper floors, including one child. Two of the injured were handed over to medics.

It took firefighters three hours to completely extinguish the fire.

“At 01:14, the fire was extinguished on an area of 60 sq. m. There were no fatalities. Law enforcement officers are establishing the causes,” the Kyiv State Emergency Service said.

It was previously reported that another generator fire broke out in Kyiv. The fire spread to a tire shop.

At the end of December, a generator caught fire on Beresteysky Avenue in the Svyatoshynskyi district of Kyiv, and flames engulfed the facade of a residential building.

Also at the end of the year, in Brovary, Kyiv region, one person died and another was hospitalized due to carbon monoxide poisoning: a generator was operating in the basement of an apartment building.
