Russia struck energy and railways during night attack, damage recorded in 10 regions and Kyiv — Zelensky

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that on the night of March 7, Russia launched 29 missiles, including ballistic missiles, as well as 480 drones, most of which were “shaheeds,” at Ukraine. According to him, the strikes were directed at energy facilities in Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi and Chernivtsi regions, as well as at railway infrastructure in Zhytomyr region.

He wrote about this in Telegram.

The President noted that damage was also recorded in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Vinnytsia, Odessa, Poltava, Sumy, and Cherkasy regions. Currently, the relevant services are working wherever necessary.

Meanwhile, in Kharkiv, work has been ongoing since last night to clear the rubble of a residential building hit by a Russian ballistic missile.

“The entrance was destroyed, the upper floors of the neighboring building were damaged. Unfortunately, as of now it is known that seven people have died. More than ten people have been injured, including children. There may still be people under the rubble. All necessary services are working on the scene for rescue,” the president wrote.

Zelensky stressed that “these cruel blows against life” must be met with a response from partners.

“Thank you to everyone who will not remain silent. Russia has not rejected attempts to destroy Ukraine's residential and critical infrastructure, and therefore support must continue. The PURL program must continue to work no less actively. We count on active work with the EU to guarantee more protection for our people. I am grateful to everyone who helps strengthen our defense,” Zelenskyy added.
