
Frenchwoman Lou Jeanmonteau won the first award of the Biathlon World Cup season – the Small Crystal Globe among women in individual races.
The seventh stage of the 2025/26 World Cup season in Kontiolahti saw the final women's individual race, which determined the winner of the Small Crystal Globe. The individual race was won by Sweden's Elvira Oberg, while the winner of the leader's red jersey, Lou Jeanmont, finished 35th, making four mistakes – one at each turn.
Despite her result in the last race, in the final “individual” standings, the Frenchwoman was 2 (!) points ahead of Swede Anna Magnusson, who took sixth place in the race in Finland.
This is Jeanmontnot's second consecutive Small Crystal Globe in individual events. The Frenchwoman is still the current holder of this award in the pursuit.
Among Ukrainian women, three biathletes managed to earn qualifying points in individual races in the Olympic season – Khrystyna, Valeria Dmytrenko and Yulia Jima. The best result among the “blue and yellow” was shown by Khrystyna Dmytrenko – she took 39th place in the women's “individual” ranking – she achieved this thanks to 18th place at the stage in Antholka.

Also in the individual race, Oleksandra Merkushyna set her best result in her career – she finished in 17th place. However, the Ukrainian showed this result at the 2026 Olympic Games, the points from which are not counted in the World Cup standings. After that, Merkushyna also won “silver” at the 2026 Junior World Championships, also in the “individual”.
