Pand bans import of grain, foodstuffs from Ukraine

The Pish government on Saturday adted a resution banning the import of grain and a large number of foodstuffs from Ukraine.

Jaroslaw Kaczynski, the leader of the ruling Law and Justice party, said this at a party congress in the settlement of Lyse (northeastern Pand) on Saturday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Today, the government adted a resution prohibiting the import [from Ukraine] of grain into Pand, as well as dozens of other types of food products. I am unable to list them all. They are provided for in the appendix to this resution – from declared grain to honey products, a lot of products," Kaczynski said.

He noted that the decision had been made taking into account "the asymmetry between Pish and Ukrainian agriculture, which is a consequence of the quality of the land, significantly lower wages in Ukraine and, finally, the fact that in Ukraine, international companies with extensive infrastructure are erating mainly on large acreages."
