Lviv Terror: Two Dead, Guardsman Succumbs

Terrorist attack in Lviv has already claimed the lives of two people - a National Guard soldier died in hospital

A 30-year-old National Guard member, previously wounded in a terrorist incident, has passed away in Lviv, as announced by Lviv’s Mayor, Andriy Sadovyi, on Wednesday, UNN informs.

Sadly, we have experienced another loss following the terrorist act in Lviv. Yosyf Pavlynsky, a 30-year-old soldier with the National Guard of Ukraine, has died in the hospital.

– Mayor Sadovyi communicated.

As per the mayor, the National Guard soldier arrived at the explosion site that evening, accompanying other emergency personnel. He was instrumental in moving people away and creating a protected area. It was during this effort that the second explosion took place.

“Yosyf hailed from the village of Bakivtsi in the Lviv region. He leaves behind his wife and a young daughter. My deepest sympathies go out to his family. The Lviv community joins in mourning with you,” Sadovyi remarked.

On the night of February 22, detonations were reported near the Magnus shopping center within Lviv. As a consequence of the explosion of self-made explosive devices, 23-year-old policewoman Viktoriya Shpylka lost her life. An additional 25 individuals sustained injuries.

The Security Service, along with the National Police, apprehended the individual suspected of perpetrating the terrorist act within 10 hours following the series of explosions.

A 33-year-old man, suspected of committing a terrorist attack in Lviv’s city center, has been placed under custody for 60 days without the possibility of release on bail.
