UNSC needs reset to kick Russia out – Ukraine’s Kuleba
He said this on the air of the national telethon, Ukrinform reports.
"I always honestly say as it is. This is not a quick process because the UN Security Council needs a complete reset in order to expel Russia from it. But it will happen eventually. The main thing is to be persistent and do what we do. And we will make the most of this month (on April 1, the Russian Federation began its rotating chairmanship – ed.), when Russia chairs the UN Security Council, in order to bring this goal closer," said Kuleba.
According to the t diplomat, the issue of Russia's expulsion has been relevant for more than a year but it was Ukraine that became the first country to officially put the issue of the illegitimacy of Russia's presence in the UN Security Council on the international agenda last December. And it was done, the reaction of even Ukraine’s friends was silent, but now “the ice has broken.”
The minister for foreign affairs also reacted to the video of the execution of a Ukrainian prisoner of war by the Russian military, noting that it is scary to think about all the deaths that were not caught on video and thus received no publicity. Ukrainian diplomats did a lot to ensure that as many pele as possible saw the video.
"War crimes on the territory of Ukraine will st only when the last Russian sdier leaves our country. As long as at least one of them is on our land, they will try to rape, kill, or cut off pele’s heads because this is their ideogy," said the minister.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, two videos showing Ukrainian sdiers being beheaded by the Russians are circulating on social media. The Security Service of Ukraine has launched a pre-trial investigation into the circumstances of the crime. Law enforcement are taking extensive measures to identify those invved in the gruesome atrocity.
British Ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Simmons said that the execution of the Ukrainian prisoner adds to the list of charges that Russia will have to face for its crimes committed in Ukraine.
The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, said that the brutal execution of a captured Ukrainian sdier is yet another crime against humanity.
France leadership was horrified by the video, demanding that all perpetrators of Russian crimes in Ukraine be held accountable.
