In the winter and spring of 2026, prices for fruit and vegetables in Ukraine will increase seasonally every month. According to scientists' forecasts, vegetables can increase in price by up to 10% during the year, and fruits – by up to 15%.
What will happen to the prices of vegetables and fruits?
The cost of basic products, including vegetables and fruits, is expected to increase in 2026, reports 24 Kanal . In the next few months, we should expect prices for most types of vegetables to increase.
According to the forecast of scientist Inna Salo, Ukrainians should be prepared for a seasonal monthly increase in the price of fruits and vegetables in the winter and spring of 2026:
- up to +10% – on vegetables;
- up to +15% – on fruit.

The formation of fruit and vegetable prices is significantly influenced by supply volumes, storage and transportation costs, increased electricity tariffs for industrial producers, as well as fuel prices.
According to analyst Maksym Hopka, the cost of vegetables in stores in 2026 will change under the influence of two more factors.
Vegetable prices will rise due to reduced domestic stocks and increased imports. This will be especially noticeable from February,

How have the prices of vegetables from the borscht set changed?
Scientist Inna Salo, citing data from the Ministry of Finance, said that since October 2025, vegetable prices have decreased slightly due to an expansion in supply :
- beets fell in price by 9% to 9.73 hryvnia per kilogram;
- carrots -12.1% to 10.90 hryvnias per kilogram;
- white cabbage -13.3% to 10.27 hryvnias per kilogram;
- onions -9.5% to 7.36 hryvnias per kilogram;
- potatoes -1.3% to 14.90 hryvnias per kilogram.
Decline in prices in December was also observed for fruits, in particular apples and citrus fruits . In December, apples fell by 13.7% compared to October, oranges by 17.8%, tangerines by 9.6%, and lemons by 24.1%. Bananas remained almost unchanged in price.
Less noticeable price increases in 2026 are expected for onions, beets, and potatoes given the rather high overall supply.
How will prices for milk and dairy products change in 2026?

In 2026, purchase prices for milk in Ukraine will increase, in particular, in June the price of “extra” grade milk will reach 20.70 hryvnias per kilogram (+25% compared to December 2025).

Prices for dairy products in retail chains will also increase, for example, sour cream with 20% fat content may cost about 180 hryvnias per kilogram in June 2026, which is 20 hryvnias more than in December 2025.
