Technology is aimed to avoid direct contact between law enforcers and civilians under pandemic conditions and beyond.

Zaporizhia-based defense engineers have converted the Scorpion robotic platform, designed for frontline reconnaissance missions, into a police robot.

The upgraded technology will allow law enforcers to remotely patrol the streets during a pandemic and beyond, avoiding direct communication between policemen and civilians, Defense Express reports.

The operator is able to control the machine directly from the platform or remotely, via a mobile application.

Over long distances, commands are sent using the 3G / LTE network from the operator’s computer set (including voice commands).

The robot is also capable of moving along a pre-designated route, automatically stopping before any obstacles on the route.

Among the police cop’s features is a remotely controlled tear gas cylinder, a stroboscope light with a siren, a speaker and a microphone, and others.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Polish company WB Electronics introduced its FlyEye 3.0 mini UAV to help the Polish government track citizens told to stay in quarantine.
