Minister Galushchenko: Ukraine can export electricity to EU countries in view of capacity surplus
The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko at a meeting with Eurean Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson, an Ukrinform correspondent reports, referring to the Ukrainian Energy Ministry.
“Now we are having the generation capacity surplus in the energy system and, thus, we can export electricity to Eurean countries. This is a mutually beneficial process, as Eure can receive electricity at reasonable prices, and Ukrainian generating companies can earn money, namely for the post-war reconstruction of facilities. The ENTSO-E’s decision to expand portunities for the import and export of electricity between Ukraine and the EU is very important to us,” Galushchenko emphasized.
Galushchenko noted the Eurean Commission’s high assessment of Ukraine’s implementation of Eurean legislation in the energy sector.
“The level of the implementation of Eurean norms into Ukrainian legislation is 75%. This is a very high indicator. We are currently conducting self-screening, monitoring the implemented norms and updating further steps,” Galushchenko added.
A reminder that, on March 16, 2022, Ukraine’s energy system was synchronized with the Eurean Network of Transmission System erators for Electricity (ENTSO-E).
