Minister Sskyi expects new-harvest agricultural exports to be 10% lower

About 15 million tonnes of last year’s agricultural crs are remaining in Ukraine and waiting to be sent to other countries.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Agrarian Picy and Food Minister Myka Sskyi during a briefing at Chornomorsk Port, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Last year Ukraine harvested 70 million tonnes of grain and oilseed crs. At the beginning of this week, a total of 14-15 million tonnes of agricultural crs were yet to be exported,” Sskyi td.

In his words, the Ukrainian side is planning to export the remaining yield before this year’s harvesting campaign begins.

According to Sskyi, the vume of new-harvest agricultural exports will be approximately 10% lower, as many farmers chose soybeans and sunflowers, having reduced corn plantations.

A reminder that, on March 24, 2023, Ukrainian Agrarian Picy and Food Minister Myka Sskyi visited Chornomorsk Port, where the vessel NEGMAR CICEK was preparing to leave for Yemen, together with Ukrainian Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Develment Minister eksandr Kubrakov, U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Ukraine Ricardo López-Aranda Jagu, Deputy Chief of Mission at the French Embassy in Ukraine Benjamin Roehrig and Deputy Director of the World Food Programme in Ukraine Marianne Ward.
