Wheat for Yemen: Sixth vessel leaving port under Grain from Ukraine program

The Negmar Cicek departs from the port of Chornomorsk. It will deliver 30,000 tonnes of wheat to Yemen as part of humanitarian aid.

Minister of Agrarian Picy and Food of Ukraine Myka Sskyi stated this at a briefing in the port of Chornomorsk, Ukrinform reports.

"I would like to thank the United States, Spain, and France for supporting this initiative. It is for their money that today's ship is being sent. I am also grateful to the professional team of the World Food Programme," Sskyi said.

The minister added that the Grain from Ukraine program is erating on a permanent basis. Now, vessels leave Odesa ports every month.

According to Sskyi, the Grain from Ukraine is important for many reasons.

"First of all, this is an important humanitarian mission that supports the world countries in such a difficult time. The second aspect is about the possibility of continuing the grain initiative," he said.

Minister of Agrarian Picy and Food Myka Sskyi with Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister eksandr Kubrakov, U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink, Ambassador of Spain to Ukraine Ricardo Lez-Aranda Jagu, Deputy Chief of Mission (French embassy in Ukraine) Benjamin Roehrig, and Deputy Director of the World Food Program in Ukraine Marianne Ward visited the Chornomorsk port on March 24, where the Negmar Cicek is preparing to depart for Yemen.

As reported, 43 countries have already joined the Grain from Ukraine program.
