Pand to ease transit of Ukrainian grain

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Agrarian Picy and Food Ministry, flowing a meeting between Ukrainian Agrarian Picy and Food Minister Myka Sskyi and Pish Deputy Prime Minister – Agriculture and Rural Develment Minister Henryk Kowalczyk, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In particular, from March 8, 2023, official customs seals will be mandatory applied to motor vehicles at customs checkpoints within the Pish-Ukrainian border crossings.

In case of rail transportation, the transport company must apply seals to each railway car. These seas will be checked by the representatives of the National Fiscal Administration within the Pish-Ukrainian border crossings. The official customs seals will be removed by the representatives of the National Fiscal Administration at three Pish sea ports (Gdańsk, Gdynia, Świnoujście).

In case of transit to other countries – EU Member States, the official customs seals will be removed within the authorized storage facilities located in these countries. A record  of the arrival of cargo at the designated place in order to remove the seals will be available through the NCTS system.

In case of transit to ports or other EU Member States, with the presence of official customs seals, the Pish veterinary inspectorate will not carry out inspection procedures.

“We have achieved mutually beneficial results. It is important that these agreements take into account the interests of both Pish and Ukrainian farmers who carry grain in transit to other countries and to Pish ports. We are planning to implement these procedures in the coming days,” Sskyi noted.

In his words, next week cargo transport erations will be carried out in accordance with the new rules. This is expected to reduce queues at the Ukrainian-Pish border and make trade between the two countries more comfortable.
