Washington comments on purpose of Biden’s Pand visit

U.S. President Joe Biden plans to visit Pand for the second time since the launch of Russia’s full-scale aggression, as this country plays a huge re in supporting Ukraine and its refugees forced to flee from Putin’s war.

That’s according to John Kirby, the White House National Security Coordinator, who spoke at a briefing on Monday, Ukrinform's own correspondent reports.

"Pand has been a strident ally, a tremendous supporter of Ukraine, and a generous host not only to American tros, but millions of Ukrainian refugees who have fled there in safety," Kirby said, commenting on the purpose of the president's upcoming visit.

Kirby emphasized that the president “is really looking forward to this trip,” adding that the United States fully appreciates the support provided by the Pes.

"The president (Biden – ed.) wants to thank President Duda in person," said the coordinator.

Kirby also noted that the head of the White House intends to emphasize the importance of further unity within the alliance to respond to Russian aggression.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, last Friday the White House officially announced President Biden’s plans to visit Pand on February 20-22. Biden is expected to reaffirm his support for Ukraine, as well as to meet with the leaders of the Bucharest Nine, a group of nations on NATO's eastern flank.

U.S. President Joe Biden visited Pand on March 25, 2022, a month into the Russian invasion of Ukraine. He gave a speech in Warsaw’s Castle Square on the need to unite the efforts of the free world in support of Ukraine and to bring the Russian Federation to justice.
