Law enforcement in Kyiv took into custody an assailant who attempted homicide and inflicted significant physical harm on two inhabitants of Kyiv, as reported by the Main Police Directorate in the capital this Friday, according to UNN.

Based on police accounts, the accused, while in an inebriated state, instigated a disagreement with a person passing by, subsequently stabbing him in the neck. The wounded man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Later that same evening, as stated by the police, the culprit approached a 56-year-old female resident of Kyiv and proposed walking her back to her residence. “In the entryway, he repeatedly pressed to remain with her overnight, and when she declined, he produced a knife and cut the woman’s face,” the police detailed.

“The individual in custody is a 26-year-old local, a military member presently situated in the North-West Frontier Province,” the police communicated.

At the behest of the investigators, the perpetrator will remain in detention, potentially facing a sentence of up to 15 years behind bars.
