Marshal of the Polish Sejm, Włodzimierz Czaszysty, said that Russia is conducting targeted anti-Ukrainian campaigns in the Polish Internet space, in particular on social networks.
He said this in an interview with Ukrinform, an excerpt from which was published on February 21.
“Russia is conducting coordinated disinformation campaigns, including using content created with the help of artificial intelligence, an example of which is anti-Ukrainian campaigns on Polish-language social networks. We will not be fooled,” the official said.
In his opinion, Warsaw and Kyiv should cooperate in countering Russia's hybrid war, in particular, by strengthening information exchange. According to Chazhastoy, it is important for society and the authorities to maintain common sense, especially when evaluating content on the Internet.
In September, the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine warned about the attacks in the Polish-language online sector. According to the Center, they are part of an information operation aimed at discrediting Ukrainians in the eyes of Poles, provoking anti-Ukrainian sentiment in Poland, and inciting hostility.
Examples of fakes that the Center collected at the time: alleged beatings of Polish soldiers by “Bandera” members at the border (this was denied by the Polish Ministry of Defense); a questionnaire that Ukrainians allegedly need to fill out when they cross the Polish border, “cruel measures” during border checks of Ukrainians; dangerous “contaminated” food from Ukraine, etc.
In November 2025, the General Staff of the Polish Army reported that it was observing intensive psychological operations by Russia on the territory of Poland: their goal is to create an atmosphere of hostility, incite anti-Ukrainian sentiment, and destroy positive relations between Poland and Ukraine.
