Lost in labyrinths: children were pulled out of the sewer in the center of Kyiv

In Kyiv, children got lost in the sewer labyrinths. They themselves turned to rescuers for help.

This was reported by the First Deputy Head of the Patrol Police Department, Oleksiy Biloshitskyi.

According to him, the children called the 112 hotline and said that they were lost in the capital's sewer system, were very cold, and asked for help.

“The sewer network is a dangerous labyrinth, where blockages, leaks of poisonous gases, or sudden flooding can occur at any moment,” Biloshitsky emphasized.

Patrol officers, together with rescuers from the State Emergency Service, examined the manholes and storm sewers and quickly discovered the children in the storm sewer on Khreshchatyk.

“Patrol officers calmed the lost children, and rescuers pulled them out of the underground trap. Fortunately, they are all fine. Juvenile prevention workers are investigating all the circumstances on site,” Biloshitsky wrote.
