Kyiv mayor reports 13 new COVID-19 cases in past day (Video)

The capital city has already as many as 348 confirmed COVID-19 cases.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city rose by 13 in the past day.

“In the past day, the number of Kyiv residents who contracted the coronavirus increased by 13 people, including two healthcare workers. The capital city has already as many as 348 confirmed COVID-19 cases,” he said during an online press conference on April 10, 2020, an UNIAN correspondent reported.

In particular, 78 cases were recorded in Pechersky district, 46 in Darnytsky and Solomyansky districts each, 44 in Shevchenkivsky district, 29 in Holosiyivsky district, 24 in Obolonsky district, 23 in Dniprovsky and Podilsky districts each, 20 in Desniansky district, and 15 in Sviatoshynsky district.

According to Klitschko, eight women aged 21 to 91, four men aged 35 to 71, and a 14-year-old girl are among those infected.

Klitschko said three new patients had been hospitalized, while another 10 were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under the supervision of doctors.

In total, 3,300 rapid tests and almost 3,500 PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests for the coronavirus were done in the capital.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in Ukraine was 2,203, including 69 deaths, on Friday morning.
