Ukraine has been experiencing a shortage of personnel for quite some time: there are not a single job seeker for some vacancies. The State Employment Service has compiled the professions that were most sought after in 2026.

What professions are most scarce in Ukraine?

The State Employment Service has already offered its clients more than 83 thousand vacancies this year, the Ministry of Finance writes.

The most in-demand professions include:

1. Drivers

There are quite a few jobs for drivers of cars, trucks, and buses. They involve the safe transportation of people or goods. Since the beginning of the year, there have been over 3,000 offers.

2. Food vendors

Qualified employees of retail chains who receive goods, put them on shelves, and sell them to customers. There are also almost 3,000 such vacancies.

3. Support workers

No special education is required, but a willingness to help in construction, production or warehouse, loading, cleaning, preparing tools is required. Over 2.4 thousand job options.

4. Sales consultants

These are retail specialists whose task is not just to “sell the product,” but also to advise, explain, and help with choices. Employers searched for such specialists approximately 2,200 times.

5. Office cleaners.

Workers to create cleanliness in offices, administrative buildings, and educational institutions. About 2.1 thousand vacancies.

6. Cooks

Specialists are needed not only for cafes and restaurants, but also for production workshops. The condition for preparing dishes is according to technology and in compliance with sanitary standards. Almost 2 thousand offers.

7. Accountants

These are specialists responsible for financial, tax and management accounting. They generate financial statements and monitor the legality of the enterprise's business operations. Approximately 1.8 thousand requests from employers.

8. Seamstresses

Currently, sewing and repairing clothes, working with fabrics, and sometimes even shoes are quite common in Ukraine. The demand is about 1,500 vacancies.

9. Nurses and nursing assistants

Patient care, injections, dressings, and IVs – this type of work requires specialized education. Almost 1.3 thousand offers.

10. Civil service and local government specialists

These are officials who work in the executive bodies of local governments. Most often, such employees implement local development programs and provide services to the population. About 1.2 thousand vacancies.

In addition, since the beginning of the year, employers have submitted more than 2.7 thousand different vacancies, but most of them are single, literally one or two offers.

The most popular among job seekers were vacancies for food salespeople and support workers , they were searched for 8.2 thousand times each. The third most popular profession this year among the unemployed was the office cleaner, with almost 4.8 thousand people seeking employment.
