Kyiv police have charged two previously convicted men from Chernihiv and Kyiv regions with stalking and beating a doctor. According to investigators, they tried to force the doctor to pay $19,000 of a non-existent debt at the behest of a woman they knew.
This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, the suspects are a “criminal authority” from Chernihiv region nicknamed “Nosik” and his accomplice from Kyiv region nicknamed “Slipyy”. One of them is charged with spreading criminal influence, the other with beatings and torture.
“The Chernihiv authority, together with their accomplices, put the victim, a metropolitan doctor, on the “meter” for a fictitious debt. The perpetrators even played a combination, allegedly one of the defendants wanted to help the doctor settle the conflict and resolve the situation peacefully, but instead of helping, the accomplices beat him. In addition, they also added interest to the amount of the “debt,” the police report said.
In January 2025, police arrested three men while receiving $3,000 from a doctor. Earlier, police say, they had received another $1,500 in several installments.
Then the investigators searched the detainees and found: $37,900, 67,350 hryvnias, an AK assault rifle, several dozen 5.45 caliber cartridges, and weapon components.
Later, a woman, who is called the mastermind of the crime, was also suspected of extortion.
It was previously reported that law enforcement officers in the Kyiv region detained six men. They are suspected of demanding a non-existent debt from a farmer for her son. According to the case materials, the suspects threatened the woman and her family with physical violence, beat the husband, and blackmailed her with the possible kidnapping of her daughter.
