President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he had received data from Ukrainian intelligence regarding Russia's preparation of another massive attack on Ukraine's energy sector.
He said this during his address on February 16.
“Air defense needs to be configured correctly. Russian attacks are constantly, so to speak, “evolving.” Evil is also developing… These are combined strikes that require special protection and appropriate support from partners. Any braking of air defense missiles, any untimely supply works to scale the damage from strikes,” the head of state said.
In this context, Zelenskyy emphasized that everything that the Ukrainian delegation talked about on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference with partners regarding air defense to protect Ukraine must be “promptly implemented.”
He also noted that “now everyone is waiting for the continuation of the trilateral meetings” between Ukraine, the United States, and the Russian Federation, where discussions on the terms of ending the war will continue.
“Our delegation is already in Geneva, already preparing for negotiations. Russia cannot resist the temptation of the last days of winter cold and wants to inflict a painful blow on Ukrainians. The greater this evil from Russia, the more difficult it will be for everyone to agree on something with them. Partners must realize this. First of all, this concerns the United States,” the president added.
On February 17-18, another round of trilateral negotiations to end Russia's war against Ukraine is to be held in Geneva, with the participation of Ukrainian, American, and Russian delegations.
