Czechia to provide Ukraine with 12 more bridges to restore traffic in de-occupied territories

The Administration of State Material Reserves of the Czech Republic has already handed over to Ukraine six temporary bridge structures, and another 12 similar bridges are expected to be delivered in 2023.

This was announced by the deputy head of the State Highway Agency, Ukravtodor, Andr Ivko, who spoke at a briefing “Restoration of road infrastructure: help from Eurean partners", hosted by the Ukraine – Ukrinform Media Center.

"Since July, six such structures have been handed over to us, and four of them have already been installed on state motorways in Kyiv, Cherkasy, and Kharkiv regions. We plan to install two more bridges in Kherson region. Next year, we expect another 12 similar bridges to be delivered from the Czech Republic," he said.

Ivko added that France’s Matière also sent Ukravtodor three 68, 34, and 23m-long bridges, which are being installed on state motorways within Chernihiv region. At one location, the metal structure of the bridge is being installed. Preparatory work is underway at two other locations.

As reported, the Norwegian State Road Administration provided Ukraine with humanitarian aid in the form of 10 bridges. Temporary bridge structures are to be delivered in January 2023.
