
In the Kyiv region, a 23-year-old girl was crossing the tracks in an unspecified location and was hit by a Fastiv-Shostka train. She died on the spot.
This was reported by the Kyiv region police on February 13.
The police learned about the tragedy from a duty worker at the Ukrzaliznytsia station. It is known that the girl was crossing the railway tracks in the wrong place. The driver of the Fastiv – Shostka passenger train, seeing the person, sounded the horn and braked urgently, but collided with the woman. She died at the scene of the incident from her injuries.
“The Kyiv Region Police urge citizens to be careful near railway tracks and use only specially equipped crossings,” the law enforcement officers emphasized.
In late January, police reported how a bus driver in Obukhiv collided with a 67-year-old man who was crossing the roadway at a non-designated pedestrian crossing. The pedestrian died. Also on January 29, two people died and 10 were injured in a road accident on the Kyiv-Odesa highway near the village of Mytnytsia.
