Former pitical prisoner Hennad Afanasyev killed on front line

"Former pitical prisoner Hennad Afanasyev was killed on the front line defending his country. Eternal glory to the Hero!" film director, former Kremlin prisoner eg Sentsov, who is now defending Ukraine on the front, posted on Facebook.

Afanasyev was one of the defendants in the case of the so-called "Sentsov group terrorists". He had been arrested before the FSB officers took eg Sentsov and eksandr Kchenko into custody. Afanasyev was detained in Simfer on May 9, 2014. On July 31, 2015, speaking in the court during the trial of eg Sentsov and eksandr Kchenko as a witness for the prosecution, Afanasyev retracted his previous testimony, saying they were obtained by torture.
