"From the first days of the Russian criminal invasion of Ukraine, the United States has supported us in all possible ways, including by providing financial assistance for the state budget in the form of grants. Such assistance is extremely important because it not only allows us to preserve the portunity to make priority social payments on time and in full, but also prevents the debt burden on the state budget from further increasing," noted Minister of Finance Serh Marchenko.
As reported, after the full-scale invasion by Russia, Ukraine already received $12 billion from the United States in the form of grants. Thus, the US is the largest donor of direct budget aid among all partner countries in 2022.
