Government launches interest-free loans for people moving due to emergencies — Svyrydenko

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is introducing a mechanism for one-time interest-free loans for people who are forced to move to a new place of residence due to emergency situations. One family will be able to receive up to 430 thousand hryvnias for a period of up to 15 years.

This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svirydenko.

The loan can be used for property, household items, and equipment for new housing. The state compensates banks for interest, and the loan is interest-free for recipients.

“The state's task is to help people return to normal life more quickly and ensure household stability for the family,” said Svyrydenko.

The maximum loan amount is up to 50 minimum wages per family, which is about 430 thousand hryvnias. To obtain a loan, one of the adult family members must apply with an application and a certificate of recognition as a victim to the local government body at the new place of residence after evacuation. After reviewing the documents, the funds are paid by an authorized bank determined by the results of the competition.

“The program will be valid for all emergency situations provided for by law. Forced relocation should not mean the loss of life support,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

Clarifications regarding the application procedure and list of documents will be published by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
